A must read for personal defense

I was reading Massad Ayoob's "Deadly Force, Understanding Your Right to Self Defense." At one point in the book he highly recommended this book so that one can really know when it is justifiable to defend himself from an attacker by having scientific knowledge about the potential harm of various types of weapons. So I ordered this Medicolegal book and have spent the last two weeks reading it. I have no scientific, legal or medical background yet I have been able to thoroughly understand the contents because that is how Dr.s Spitz and Fisher decided to write it, that a layman could use it. I really had no clue how deadly and dangerous a knife attack could be until I read the section on "Sharp Force Injury." I had no idea how horrific an attack with a baton or pipe or hammer could be until I read the section on "Blunt Force Injury." Really, most any object or even a bare handed karate chop or being kicked in the vital organs or head can permanently disable or kill you rather quickly. A must read for anyone who is planning on defending himself or his loved ones from a home invasion or street attack in that you will have a very clear comprehension as to what injury or death likely awaits you if you fail to take defensive action to stop the threat.

As others said just a text book, but most informative, thought mine was
new but had high-lights and thumbed pages, but not too bad. Massad Ayoob
recommended in his "Deadly Force" book for information on what will happen
to YOU if attacked by any of the means examined within (the jury can be
compelled to read it to show you really were in danger) the old idea "He just
had a knife!" is shown as stupid.
