EXCELLENT BOOK!!!!

This book far exceeded my expectations! With over 300 illustrations ranging from equine, feline, canine,etc. it covers a huge variety of systems and muscle groups! Was very, very impressed! My high school (within LAUSD) is creating a zoology class in the next year, and I have recommended this book to them which will be the main source for all the worksheet and labeling assignments!! Very detailed book and the pictures are extremely sharp and accurate! Very, very good product for the price. I can't recommend it enough. Each animal type is categorized by body positions and anatomical views, rendering a complete view of the animal over several different sections in the book.

A typical layout of any page will include:

1) the anatomical view of the animal
2) 22+ different labels of the sanctioned (according to #chapter) parts to color!
3) Description of the system at the top of the page (what you are looking at)
4) Clean, non-waxed or glossy paper, to color on
...and more!!!!

But to any potential buyers, whether you are a vet student, zoologist, animal system aficionado, or simply have a minor interest in animal sciences and anatomy (like me), then I highly recommend this book for you! I would not recommend buying a textbook that runs from $50-$98, until you buy this book. For only a fraction of the cost of veterinary textbooks, it serves as a great introduction to veterinary medicine and anatomy!

*** I would suggest buying a 2" binder, photocopying (at work or a friend's office, the pages of interest to you) and then storing it in the binder and keeping the book in your library for safe-keeping. That way you can have a more professional reference tool and sell the book, "unmarked" and in "like new condition" in the future! Thanks for reading the review!

Amazing book and study tool

I bought this book about a month ago, and ever since then, I've been coloring in it everyday. I'm a Veterinary Technology student and one of my hardest classes right now is Animal Anatomy. This book covers so much that it has really helped me with my studies. It covers not just canine and feline, but bovine and equine as well. The equine has really helped this far in my semester because that's what my whole semester is based on. It helps me study for tests and it's proven to really help when trying to recall certain parts. I can close my eyes during a test and picture what I colored and the color of that specific part. I would recommend this book to any veterinary technology student, veterinary medicine student, or anyone that just wanted to learn about the anatomy of these animals.

This Could Be a Lot Better

Unlike my human A&P coloring book, a majority of this book's pictures contain multiple systems, which gives it a jumbled appearance. I would frequently have to search through the entire book just to find the pictures that contain some bones, muscles, etc. The pictures themselves range from poor-quality to decent/good.

That stated, it is better than nothing if anatomy coloring books help you, and it's pretty much the only option you have for animal A&P. It simply needs to be restructured into a more concise layout.

Good book, great story, but I wanted the script.

The book pictured in blue was not the book sent to me. I was disappointed because the other books with the same title are the story. Which is a wonderful story. But what I ordered was the blue book of the same title but it is written in "script" form to use for a play or theater application. It was very inexpensive and I didn't return or dispute it because I can always use another copy. But if the ad and the book were better identified or described I wouldn't have bought another story version, when I wanted the script instead.
I really think the picture in advertising was displayed incorrectly. I have recently ordered the blue version, which is the script format, and it came as advertised.
The script form is a wonderful application of the story to be used as a play or dramatic presentation. Very little you have to do to make it work for adults or children.
In the future, to anyone who reads this, be sure to ask if it is the story book form or script form. For some of you the story is what you want and it is indicated with a couple different types of pictures on the front of the book. The script form is as you see it, which is the blue cover and says (Script).

Looking for a Christmas Play - here's one for you!

This is an excellent play for a Christmas program. It has a large cast, so be prepared. However, all of the characters are wonderfully written, as well as the story. It is a comical approach to putting together a Christmas program, which I have done for several years.

If you are looking for a play to tell the Christmas story, and how all Christians need to work together despite our differences - I would highly recommend this production. Plus, it is very funny which is always a plus.

This is the PLAY version of this story, adapted by Barbara Robinson herself. We just finished a production and it's wonderful. Great story, compactly told with nice narration. If you don't know the book - get it, read it, it's a great mix of fun and honestly with a touch of a tear-maker at the end. A good mix of what is in the book, but with an eye to theatricality. There are a couple transitions that were weird for us, since the play was adapted very surely with a proscenium stage in mind, which we don't have, so curtain fly-ins and in-one scenes were really not an option, BUT...those are issues we solved.

Dr. Williams has, for many years, been actively involved in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and several other professional accounting organizations. Throughout his career, he has taught continuing professional education for CPAs. In 1994, Dr. Williams received the Outstanding Accounting Educator Award from both the Tennessee Society of CPAs and the AICPA. He authored or co-authored six books and over 100 articles, monographs, and other publications on issues related to financial reporting and accounting and business education. Dr. Williams served as National President of Beta Alpha Psi, President of the American Accounting Association, and Chair of the Board of Directors of the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International, the largest accreditation organization for business schools in the world. He retired from the University of Tennessee in 2013 and continues his involvement in several academic and professional organizations. JUDITH WEISS, CPA, has an M.S. in Accounting from Long Island University, Greenvale, New York, and an M.S. in Education from Queens College, Flushing, New York. After several years in public accounting and private industry, she worked as a technical manager in the AICPA's Accounting Standards Division, where she helped industry committees to develop Audit and Accounting Guides and Statements of Position. I'll save you the $3 and time to read this hodge podge of a "book"

Buy a domain name. Sell ads or use google Adsense, pick a topic, blog about it. The end. This is not a book, it's a collection of the writer's prior articles (he says so up front). So, many paragraphs are repeated (some more than a few times!). There is no consistency or flow. And he seems hellbent on convincing you to become a web developer--because that is how he made his money. Oh, and maybe blog a bit, whatever, but the real money is in web development. Did i mention to sell your web development skills for $500 a pop? Oh, and dont forget, you can make money doing web development. And on and on he goes. Don't make the same mistake I did, thinking its only a few bucks. Save your money, and your time reading this dribble.

Oh! And he repeatedly tries to get you to click on links that no doubt make him $ for each click!

The BEST book I've read for blogging!

This book was fantastic. And when I say this, let me explain why saying this is different for me. I have read a LOT of books on making blogs and other online businesses. This one blows every one out of the water.
One of the things I enjoyed immediately was the way the author described the benefits of a blog. In most books that talk about starting a blog, the first benefit they describe is the income that can be created through blogging. In this book, the author describes a different benefit first; and that is the ability to record and organize your thoughts, and analyze topics in a way you normally would not. As a writer, I was immediately impressed because many times I am driven to write because of these exact reasons rather than the idea of "I could sell this.".
The entrepreneurial applications in this book are endless because the author teaches you to not only build a blog but also introduces you to the business of online business.
The best part about this book is the way it is written. First, it is written in language every one will understand. It is honest and the author is incredibly down to earth. While you are learning the many ways to become an entrepreneur, you don't ever feel like you are being talked down to or that the information has been over simplified. This concept is obvious even when talking about rather complex things like domain registration and purchasing, monetizing, SEO, marketing, Google ranking, Google Analytics, and Google Adsense. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to start a blog...well, let me be honest..I'll likely recommend it to everyone!

I've been building blogs and making money online for several years now. The information in this book will walk you through the process of getting started and understanding the basics of how to succeed online. I didn't see anything at all that I did not agree with. The author knows what he is talking about and has provide an excellent resource for the money...

About the Author
Danny Indio is certified as an Apprentice Instructor in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Filipino Martial Arts under Sifu Dan Anderson (a student of the famous Guro Dan Inosanto) in New York City. He has trained under many instructors, such as Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro and Paul Vunak. He is also a Muay Thai instructor. Indio was a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor from 2001-2003. He has over 10 years of experience teaching martial arts, and has fought—and won—numerous matches in boxing, grappling tournaments and stick fighting competitions.

A comprehensive self-defense book.

Tuttle Publishing has produced many excellent martial arts books in the past and I'd like to add this book to my list. As the title says it is primarily covers "Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Techniques" plus mentions some self- defense techniques not allowed in MMA contests for use in a bad street or life threatening situations. However, I view the entire book as a self- defense book because what is used for MMA can also be used in most self- defense situations!!!

Author Danny Indio has done a good job in the book of covering the 4 fighting ranges: Kicking Range, Punching Range, Trapping, and Grappling (both standing and ground). He covers stances and movement, upper body arm and hand strikes and defenses, lower body kicks and defenses, standing clinch fighting and defenses, leg takedowns and defenses, basic ground grappling positions and escapes, including ground strikes, arm bars and chokes plus defenses against each. There is some knife defense examples both standing and from the ground that I question a little, however, I concur with his principle of painfully damaging opponent first (striking attacker eyes, throat, groin, knee) before attempting disarm of the knife. Of course, there are volumes of books written about some of his individual topics in far more detail, however, overall I think he has written a comprehensive self- defense book. Besides it never hurts to go over the basics once in a while,

The accompanying DVD has some good standing upper body hand and arm striking and also defensive drills. DVD also has some good lower body kicks and defensive drills. The problem is the DVDs picture is not clear, fuzzy. and small - very amateurish!!!

3.5?... rename it mma defense for beginners and its a 5

I wasn't sure what to give this one but it was well done so I'll settle for a 4... I've done martial arts for years but never got into mma and figured I would take a look. I saw that it had strikes and takedowns, grappling positions, and so on... all presented for the beginner(?). So far, so good. Then I saw the footwork section which made me cringe a little. When presenting forward movement (for example), he leans way back while sticking the lead leg out and finally drops forward. While stepping back he leans far forward. Later there's a quick note on "advanced shuffles" in which its said things are done more fluidly, but no picture there. I'm sure the way the steps were done was just for slow illustrative purposes (?) but they look like someone was testing unsafe ice, not moving in a fight. Anyway, things go good again after that. Too many combinations for me (anyone can link together some 1-2s, etc.) but this is for beginners (I think). After some more good stuff with very good clear pictures and explanations... another complaint: knives. I flipped back to the author's style after the footwork examples and multiple pages of knife fighting in an mma book to see that his style seems to primarily be jeetkunedo. I figured it was an mma book by an mma guy, not a mma book by a jkd guy. Not that this makes it bad but still... Anyway, theres a knife section, in the clinch chapter there is knife fighting from the clinch, in the ground fighting section there is more knife fighting. for a fairly thin (but fairly comprehensive) book on mma I'd rather there not be so many pages on knives and combos. Now after all that you might think I hated the book or something but no. for someone (almost like me) who knows little of mma or martial arts in general and wants to learn, its a good book. For someone with any knowledge on mma or who has done martial arts for years, there is less to gain. Even with no mma background, there wasn't much that I hadn't seen or done before (ready guard, jabs, hooks, elbows, double leg takedown, etc...) I would market it as a book for beginners or maybe call it mma self defense and then half my complaints would disappear (I guess it does say mma techniques, it doesn't say it is purely mma but I'd make it more clear). as for the video, that's not very clear but in my opinion the video was just an extra freebee that came with the book so I don't care about production quality. i'd throw in one final complaint about the defense against the oblique kick but this has gone on long enough. basically, complaints aside, there are good explanations, great tips, very clear pictures, he covered a lot of ground and made a good book. I also like the parts where he shows self defense options (where you can use dirty tricks to defend yourself with moves that aren't allowed in mma). my personal complaint is that I learned little but maybe that won't be true for you.
